Judaism in Conversation: Exploring World Religions: "Join us for an engaging and eye-opening journey! In this class, we'll place Judaism at the heart of a fascinating conversation with Christianity, Islam, and Buddhism. Together, we'll explore how these major faiths grapple with life's big questions: What happens after we die? How do our traditions view sexuality? And what does it truly mean to live a righteous life? Discover the unique wisdom of Judaism alongside the diverse perspectives of our global neighbors, enriching your own Jewish journey and fostering a deeper connection to our shared human story.
April 1 Session: Journey into the afterlife beliefs of four major world faiths: Judaism, Islam, Christianity, and Buddhism. This class explores contrasting visions of what awaits us after death, from concepts of heaven and hell to reincarnation and ultimate liberation, providing a rich understanding of human perspectives on mortality and eternity.
April 8 Session: This session examines the Exodus narrative and its profound influence on Judaism, Christianity, and Islam. We will analyze the biblical and Quranic accounts, explore diverse interpretations, and consider the story's ongoing significance in shaping religious identity, theology, and practice within these three Abrahamic faiths.
No cost, everyone welcome. RSVP to Temple office.

Did you know the braided Challah on your Shabbat table wasn't originally Jewish, but borrowed from ancient German pagans? Judaism isn't just about abstract ideas. It is a religion you can touch, smell, taste, and hold. Join us for, "The Secret Life of Jewish Objects" - a 5-part series where we trace the fascinating evolution of five iconic objects—The Scroll, The Candle, The Garment, The Cup, and The Bread—from their biblical origins to their mystical meanings today. We will explore how the "Showbread" of the Temple—forbidden to all but the Priests—evolved into the Challah we love today. But we won't just study history; we will make it. This course combines deep learning with hands-on workshops, including: Tying your own Tzitzit knots Rolling beeswax Havdalah candles A pre-Purim wine tasting A DIY Matzah bake Don't just study Jewish history—get your hands on it! -
