Social Action
Social Action
At Temple Beth Am, we take social action so seriously, it's one of our core values - Tikkun Olam: Social Responsibility. Accepting our need to repair the world around us through social action and acts of tzedakah.
We have many ways to get involved, whether you have a lot of time or only a little. Click the links below to find out more about each opportunity.
Mitzvah of the Month - Provides year-round opportunities to engage in acts of tikkun olam
100 Women Who Care - Meets at Temple Beth Am 4 times per year
Lotsa Helping Hands - Web-based volunteer organization platform
Morse Life - Senior living community
and more!
Our Goals
The Social Action Committee (SAC) is proud to announce the following goals:
- Raising consciousness among congregation members both adult and youth
- Offering congregation members a menu of projects and programs for their action and support including activities developed at Temple Beth Am and others originated in the broader community
- Building bridges between Judaism and different faiths in order to work toward social justice
- Working toward the incorporation of Tikkun Olam values and activities as a religious expression by the Temple Beth Am community
DO YOU WANT TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?
…fight for a worthwhile cause?
…teach your children by doing mitzvot with them?
Please join us. We need your ideas, skills and support!
All levels of participation are welcome!
If you have ideas for projects or causes you would like to share and participate in, please contact the office at 561.747.1109 or tba@templebetham.com.
