Our next meeting of the Book Club season is on Monday, December 9 (please note the date change) at 10:30am at Temple Beth Am. We will discuss UNDER A RED SKY: MEMOIR OF A CHILDHOOD IN COMMUNIST ROMANIA by Haya Leah Molnar. (There are several books with very similar titles, including one we will read later in the season. Please make sure that you double check to make sure that the title and author are correct before you read!) Eva Zimmermann is eight years old, and she has just discovered she is Jewish. Such is the life of an only child living in postwar Bucharest, a city that is changing in ever more frightening ways. Eva’s family, full of eccentric and opinionated adults, will do absolutely anything to keep her safe–even if it means hiding her identity from her. With razor-sharp depictions of her animated relatives, Haya Leah Molnar’s memoir of her childhood captures with touching precocity the very adult realities of living behind the iron curtain. Our next speaker is on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 6:45pm. Dr. David Rosenberg discussing “4 Keys to Maximizing Quality of Life As We Age”. Congregant Dr. David Rosenberg received his MD from the University of Miami and has been a member of American Board of Family Medicine since 1991. He operates Jupiter Concierge Family Practice, PA, is an Attending Physician at Jupiter Medical Center and Palm Beach Gardens Medical Center, is a volunteer physician at My Clinic in Jupiter, and was Director of Carelink Community Free Health Clinic from 2002-2011. Dr. Rosenberg has given community lectures on general nutrition, anti-aging, doctors ordering unnecessary tests, and being a better patient—this will provide valuable insight and information to all who attend. Pizza and soda will be available at this and other sessions in our Speaker Series. Members, congregants, and friends of both genders are invited to attend.
