What is HaMakom?
HaMakom is the place for our youth to experience Judaism at Temple Beth Am.
Mission
Educate Jewish youth.
Foster Jewish identity, culture, and community.
Inspire youth to lead life as a mensch.
Vision
Create an environment where youth choose to be.
Energize Jewish education, making it vital for parents and youth.
Inspire and empower our youth to use their knowledge at home, at Temple and in their communities.
Overview
In Hebrew, HaMakom means “The Place”. At Temple Beth Am, it is the place to learn, grow, and experience our continuum of formal and informal education from Kindergarten – 12th grade.
HaMakom at Temple Beth Am approaches Jewish education in an exploratory and creative atmosphere. We blend the formal avenue of classrooms instruction with informal education where students can explore their Judaism in a variety of ways.
By putting the students’ learning in their hands, teachers create active learners who enhance the classroom experience. The secret to our success is keeping the lessons relevant so students remain engaged, and look forward to their time together.

We are glad to offer Seasons of Mussar, a community Mussar program that provides access to the transformative teaching and practices of Mussar, based on the book Everyday Holiness, by Alan Morinis. Through contemplative practices, small group discussions, and text study you will be shown an authentic Jewish pathway to transform your inner world so you can find more balance and wholeness in all areas of life. Seasons of Mussar is open for new and returning Mussar seekers and is suitable for all, regardless of the level of Jewish knowledge, and no Hebrew is required -
