Adult Education: The Adult Education Committee’s mission is to foster the Jewish education of adults in our temple. The committee organizes Aleynus (Saturday night guest speakers), courses taught by the clergy and special lecture series.
Arts and Acquisitions: The Arts and Acquisitions Committee serves to beautify Temple Beth Am through the acceptance of donated art, procurement of art and ritual items, and display of permanent artworks.
Building and Grounds: The Building and Grounds Committee addresses issues related to building usage, structural issues and repairs, security and landscaping.
Bylaws: The Bylaws Committee shall be responsible for reviewing, evaluating and formulating changes in the Bylaws
Caring Community: The Caring Community organizes support for congregants facing the joys and struggles of life cycle events, illness and other needs.
JAMTY: JAMTY is Temple Beth Am’s NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth) affiliate. JAMTY provides a fun and active venue for Jewish teens to come together to learn, worship, perform community service and meet new people. Members of the group also travel to interact with other Jewish teens regionally and nationally.
Development: The Development Committee helps the synagogue meet its needs through the Annual Appeal, planned giving efforts and endowment fundraising.
Finance: The Finance Committee is responsible for the synagogue’s financial activity, including review and maintenance of financial controls, budgeting and forecasting. Chairperson – Jack Tenenbaum
Inclusion: The Inclusion Committee works to create a welcoming, accessible and supportive environment by providing access and support for our congregants with special needs, older adults, interfaith families and congregants who belong to traditionally under-represented communities within our synagogue.
Membership: The Membership Committee focuses on maintaining a welcoming synagogue community by reaching out to potential members, welcoming new members and retaining current members.
Nominating: The Nominating Committee recommends candidates for open board of director seats as outlined in TBA Bylaws. Chair – Past President
Religious Practices: The Religious Practices Committee works closely with the clergy to plan and prepare inviting and inspiring worship for all. This committee is responsible for High Holy Day Services, holiday and special Shabbat Services, maintaining our prayer books and inviting members to perform Shabbat and ritual honors.
Religious School: The Religious School Committee provides support, ideas, energy, and leadership to make TBA's Religious School the best it can be. This committee supports the Education Director through hands-on assistance, brainstorming, problem solving and helping to shape Religious School vision and policy.
Social Action: The Social Action Committee supports and organizes many social justice events to give back to the community. Members of this committee represent TBA in several interfaith and community-based initiatives in and work to support tikkun olam initiatives such as TBA’s Social Action Sundays.
Youth: The Youth Committee sponsors programs for elementary age children. This committee leads TBA’s annual Chanukah Celebration, Purim Carnival, craft fair, bowling and pool parties and holiday celebrations.
