Volunteer opportunity!  Perform a mitzvah for those in need!

St. George's Soup Kitchen has temporarily suspended serving evening meals and is instead serving hot meals for lunch and sending guests home with sandwiches for their evening meal. TBA will be helping St. George by fulfilling 100 meals a week for the next three weeks.

Please consider signing up to help make 20 sandwiches or to provide 20 bags of chips, 20 juice boxes, or 100 paper bags. Drop-offs will be on Thursdays before 4:00pm to Audrey Ades' home in Egret Landing in Jupiter. She will drop everything off at St. George's Soup Kitchen every Friday. All the details are in the spreadsheet. Click HERE to sign up!

MARCH 18, 2020

Dear Congregants and Friends,

Based on the latest updates about Covid-19, from Palm Beach County officials, and out of an abundance of caution for the health and well being of at risk individuals in our community, Temple Beth Am is making the following changes to our calendar of events:

  • The Temple will closed to the public until further notice; however, the office is available via phone (561.747.1109) and email (tba@templebetham.com) only.    Our clergy and staff is hard at work on making virtual connections, creating quality learning opportunities, and digital programs and content for you.

  • Services will be available via  Livestream ONLY. You can view Services on the Temple's Facebook page or by clicking here.

  • The One School will begin Spring Break early. School, including enrichments, intersession, and Family Center programming will be suspended through Friday, March 27. At that time we will evaluate when it is safe to resume classes.

  • Religious School classes, camp days, and youth group programs are suspended until further notice.

  • All programming at the Temple is postponed  including but not limited to adult education, challah baking, choir, Men's Club and Sisterhood programming, special services, Shabbat dinners and socials, canasta, and mah jongg.

Many of you have inquired about the Levkovitz family. We have been in touch with them and want everyone to know that they are fine, and safe, and very grateful for all of your concern.

It is during times of uncertainty that the importance of community is most apparent, and the need so dire for some. What also becomes apparent during situations such as this is the spirit of a community, and if the phone calls we have received are any indication, the spirit of the Temple Beth Am community is characterized by love, chesed (kindness), and generosity. So many of you have called offering to help deliver food, groceries, and supplies to anyone who may be immune compromised and unable to shop for themselves, and offer financial assistance to those whose income may be affected during this time. When so many stories on the news are of people reacting in crazy ways, it is heartwarming to see how our congregants step up. If you would like to offer assistance or know of someone who may need it, please contact us at tba@templebetham.com or 561.747.1109.

Thank you for your understanding, support, and generosity, as well as your patience as we continue to make the decisions to best take care of our congregation and community. We remind you all to take care of yourselves and stay safe.   We know the need for community now is high. Please don't hesitate to be in touch with us, even if you don't need anything, or just want to check in or talk, we love to hear from you.

Please continue to check this page often as we post updates and information about    virtual programming opportunities.
