Bar/Bat Mitzvah Preparation
Classes ranging from the very basic to Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation are conducted personally by the rabbi, cantor and other religious school staff. They are popular with newcomers to our faith as well as those who wish to refresh and expand their knowledge of Judaism.
Havdalah Nights
Saturday evening Havadalah services grow in popularity. They bring closure to the Sabbath with song, prayer, and good wishes for the week to come. A light supper is followed by lectures from distinguished speakers and open discussion on matters of importance to members and their guests.
Torah Study
These are classes taught by the rabbi who reviews the Torah portion for the week with student participation, and they are conducted on some Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Thursday "Torah Talk" at Noon
Join us for a lively discussion of the weekly Torah portion, led by our education director, David Sherman. No prior knowledge of Hebrew or Torah needed. Bring a lunch if you choose. Coffe/tea provided. Torah Talk
Tuesday Night of Learning Tuesday Night of Learning
Classes are led by clergy, local professionals, scholars and well known guest speakers. Topics range from historical study to current topics and relevant social issues. Classes are held on selected Tuesdays from 7:30pm-8:30pm.
Ruach Adult Education
Programs designed for adults with both afternoon and evening activities. Participants enjoy the time to socialize whether it be over dinner, a discussion topic, or a movie.
Learn to Read Hebrew
Adult beginner classes run for approximately 10 weeks. These classes are free of charge and we hope many of you will take advantage of this opportunity.
Lectures
Our adult education programs included noted professors and scholars from nearby universities and from around the world. They discuss specialized topics and their experiences.
