SOCIAL ACTION COMMITTEE (SAC) GOALS


  • Raising consciousness among congregation members both adult and youth
  • Offering congregation members a menu of projects and programs for their action and support including activities developed at Temple Beth Am and others originated in the broader community
  • Building bridges between Judaism and different faiths in order to work toward social justice
  • Working toward the incorporation of Tikkun Olam values and activities as a religious expression by the Temple Beth Am community

Ongoing Social Action Mitzvah Project
Cooking and Serving at St. George's Soup Kitchen in Riviera Beach

HOW YOU CAN HELP: We need cooks, bakers & servers.
We also need help locating sponsors & food donations.


COOK
: The 3rd Sunday of every month in the TBA kitchen at 12:00. The St George Monday meal is prepared at this time and then served the following evening at the soup kitchen. Community service hours are available. DATES: OCTOBER 16, NOVEMBER 20, JANUARY 15, FEBRUARY 19, MARCH 18, APRIL 15, MAY 20

SERVE: The 3rd Monday of every month at the St. George Church, TBA volunteers set up, serve, and close at the soup kitchen. The hours are from 5:00 to approximately 6:45. Community service hours are available. DATES: OCTOBER 17, NOVEMBER 21, DECEMBER 24, JANUARY 16, FEBRUARY 20, MARCH 19, APRIL 16, MAY 21.

BAKERS: We are always in need of baked goods to serve as desserts. Store bought or home made desserts are welcome.LOCAL SPONSORS AND FOOD DONATIONS ARE WELCOME
