Temple Beth Am is proud of its new partnership with HFLA of South Florida, Inc.   HFLA is now able to assist Jewish families and individuals through the generosity of the Cohn Family Assistance Fund. HFLA will be working with Temple Beth Am in providing short term interest-free microloans to those in financial distress in Northern Palm Beach County. Temple Beth Am will help HFLA fulfill its mission to provideTzedek  to the families of our community, while providing the template for other donors to support this vital cause.  For more information, call  Carol Sleeper at the Temple office at 561-747-1109, ext. 102.  Your information is kept confidential.

                                                  Cohn Family Assistance Fund

HFLA was able to create the Cohn Family Assistance Fund through the generous donation made by Wendy & Barry Cohn and Liz & Brian Cohn. The basis of this fund is to provide financial assistance for those living in Northern Palm Beach County. HFLA is working directly with Temple Beth Am in Jupiter, Florida to provide those in financial distress with our interest-free loans for emergencies, prescriptions, pre-school and camp, bar/bat mitzvahs, weddings and educational trips to Israel.

With the creation of this loan fund HFLA continues to help Jewish individuals in need by providing a hand-up with dignity since 1989. HFLA & Temple Beth Am would like to thank the Cohn family for their generosity.

About HFLA

The Hebrew Free Loan Association of South Florida, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, funded primarily by private donations. Our funding program facilitates financial independence through the use of interest-free microlending. Each contribution is an investment in the dignity and independence of many individuals and families in our local Jewish community.

Our microloan programs provide financial assistance for situations such as: emergencies, medical and dental expenses, housing and car repairs, life-cycle events, loans for early childhood and adult continuing education, immigration costs, divorce, help for victims of domestic violence, and mortgage and rental costs.

Since inception in 1989, HFLA continues to provide a helping hand throughout our South Florida Jewish Community. We are very proud of our accomplishments and the opportunity to support those faced with a true financial hardship in their day to day lives. Our core of volunteers and staff stand committed to providing the needed assistance in helping our borrowers in achieving their goals of leading more rewarding and responsible lives.
